Project #4 Exquisite Corpse
Design Process
Jess's story:
My figure's story: The person behind the astronaut could be anyone. The astronaut clothing covers the person in it and we're used to seeing mostly men but in few cases it has been women. I picked the astronaut since it's the person who's able to get to the moon and kind of live in the future. It would be fun to see how the astronaut could be animated from different perspectives and who would it turn out being.
Bihan's story:
The man in the blue business suit named Tianchou Yin, who is a character portrayed by Stephen Chow from the HongKong movie《The King of Comedy》, and his posture in the sketch derives from the most classic scene of the movie. In which Piaopiao (the female leading role who is a prostitute) is asking Tianchou ( who is a third-rate actor) to teach her how to act naturally and attractively when greeting her clients. Tianchou lets Piaopiao say "Hi, sir" when he raised her chin. It was at this moment that the quarrelsome couples fall in love with each other.
My story:
The story of my figure: Teletubbies was one of my favorite cartoons back when I was little. Tinky-Winky is one of my favorites babies out of all of them. I loved their strawberry smoothie and it is still one of my favorite drinks till today. I remember missing classes because I was too addicted to the show.
I first started with combining the three parts of the body together and changing the scale of each part to make the figure portional. I then started to divide the figure into three parts of the coding process in order to call the function. The main part of the figure, which is the body part remains the same and I coded a bit so that the pocket of the figure can change colors as mouseX and mouseY moves. I also used the if function so that the circle on the right side of the figure bounces up and down.
Reflection
This is a really interesting project to work on. It was kind of hard at first to figure out how to put all parts of the body shapes together, but I think it was also quite interesting to see the final result and kind of play with it. It has really helped me in organizing my codes and making it easier to find errors. I have found myself getting better at simple functions and I was able to figure out how to make a specific object move the way that I wanted it to though applying if and mouseX and mouseY. I think in general, I am slowly getting more used to code haha.
Final story of the figure
The figure that I created is this guy who is wearing a custom and walking in the space. He feels this strong connection with teletubbies because he wants to always be happy and doesnt want to grow up, so he hancemade this custom and wears it everyday. He uses the lighting ball on the left side of his helmet to send out messages to earth and communicate with people on earth. He doesn't talk much so he uses his pocket to show his emotions since it changes colors as his mood switches.
