Project #6 Merry early Christmas

Design Process
Winter is my favorite season of the year. Christmas is the festival that I love the most. According to Chinese culture, the day “立冬”, which means the start of winter, has just passed several days ago. We are officially in the winter season now. Inspired by this fact, I decided to create something dedicated to Christmas. I have always wondered if Santa really exists and for this project, I decided to make myself the santa and send people Christmas wishes. In order to make it kind of a surprise, I used the mouseIsPressed so that when people click, there will be a Christmas themed frame pop up to add some joys. I also used an array to create bubbles to make it fun. Below are 2 screenshots of the effects: I have also added myself as part of the filter so that when other people use the filter, it feels like I am celebrating Christmas with them. To me, Christmas is a chance to gether with family and friends, but because of the this pandemic, many of my friends and family members are all over the glob. This filter gives me a chance to be part of their celebration of Christmas.
Reflection
I really enjoyed creating this camera since I think it is a child dream come true. For people who wanted to be Santa for a moment, they get to achieve it through turning on the camera and they can also become a part of the christmas gift card, which is something that I really wanted to do. I think it was definitely a challenge for me to figure out how to use arrays. I have tried many times but there still showed error on line 0, but I finally figured it out although my approach was quite simple. I used the face tracker to track the face and attach Santa filter onto the user to turn them into a cute Santa. I have also attached some of other people using the filter. Merry early Christmas! 🎄
